Tassa & Airlie last minute touches.

Tassa  in Ferndale @ 15 mo..

What a Summer !

Several BC Aussie lovers went south to Washington this summer to enjoy the ASCA Conformation Shows from June to August.

The Ferndale Show, June 3rd and 4th was great fun.
Linda Clark, her Mom Almeda, Cisco (A 1st and 2nd) in open black.
Airlie and Tassa (A 2nd and 3rd) in 12 - 18 mo. bitch.
Brook was a great cheerleader and enjoyed being there.
We  had such a nice time being together and enjoyed competing so much.
It was so nice to see several BC Members there to cheer us on.

The Summer Spectacular in Graham, Washington July 1st and 2nd was wonderful.
The Cascade ASC put on two shows and the Puppy Sweeps on July 3rd.
Linda, her Mom and their two dogs Cisco and Biscuit camped at Frontier Park.
The noise wasn't as bad after the first night of fireworks was done.
Linda was very busy as Cisco and Biscuit were both competing.
Cisco won 2nd and 3rd in Open Black
Biscuit won 1st and 2nd in Altered open Black

There were five shows in all plus a puppy Sweeps which Tassa competed in.
What fun we had ! A first and five seconds were the result !!
Brook and Tassa had a ball each evening playing and zooming in Marge's beautiful fields.
I go at amazing picture of Brook at 14 1/2 years young !!

What fun it was to be near Katie and Michele  who were competing and
camping at the Park.
Lola and Rio were wonderful.

The next show was The Cascade ASC Show in Kalama, Wa. Aug. 4-6, 2006
What fun we had at the fabulous park.
Marge's Clay went Winner's Dog / Best of Opposite and her beautiful puppy,
Fanny, went Best of Breed Puppy twice.
Tassa won a first, second and third. (We just watched on Friday night as her breeder was judging.)
It was great fun seeing Cathy and Emilie who brought "Chase" Tassa's father and "Waylon" with them from California.
We stayed in a motel on Saturday night which was great fun with the puppies who were as good as gold.
Brook was angelic as usual.

The last summer ASCA show we attended was the ASC of WA.Show in  Lake Bay, WA. August 12th & 13th, 2006
Once we got there it was great fun showing in a well used sheep and horse ranch. Wow was it hot !
Fanny was a star both days and won Best of Breed Puppy on Sunday.
Tassa won her class both days and on Sunday she was pulled third in the judge's cut.
What fun was that!
We went the scenic route home on Saturday and both ways Sunday.
It was a wonderful time. The best dog showing summer on record !

There is one summer show to go: The Cascade ASC Show at Orchard Park in Vancouver, Washington.
Two Shows Sept 9th, one on Sunday the 10th: Benefit for Mary Ann Lindsay
Go if you can, you will love it!  Previous commitments will keep Tassa and I at home.

From Carly....

Well had the Tyee agility trial this weekend, 6 runs in 3 days. That's a lot of agility...not so much the number of runs, but dragged out over three days it really really makes it a long weekend. I am exhausted. But from that exhausting weekend I have some great great news!

Jurny finished his AGI on Friday with a perfect 100 score, and then went on that afternoon to Q in his first ever Excellent run with a perfect 100 as well. Then things didn't go as well and we didn't Q for the rest of the weekend, but just small stuff and he was getting tired, as was I, and neither of us were really putting our hearts into it by today. But he still had great runs, and had fun which is the main thing!

His last Int Q he got 4th, and for his first Ex Q he got 3rd! So we came home with some nice big ribbons as well.

As well, by finishing his AGI, he also qualifies for his Performance Champion (PCH) through CNASA. So he is now
PCH CH Caitland Jurney into the Crowd CDX, AGI, HIC, SAADC, NAC, NGC, NJC, TN-N, TG-N, GS-N.

I am so proud of him, he really saves my butt out there a lot and is always so happy to work. He is going into a semi retirement and will probably only come out for agility a few times a year now. I notice he tires quicker and I want it to remain fun for us. I hope to finish up his AGX and we will pick away at his AGMX over the next few years.

September 2004

From Joan Holmes...

Kya and I competed at the Ellensburg trial also, and Kya got a 2nd and
4th in Started Sheep and also got qualifying scores both days in Started
Cattle to finish her title. She is now Windsong's The Ever Redi Kid
STDsc DNA-VP. Kya is going to be an awesome sheep dog, but getting
kicked in the head by a cow on her first cattle run has left her a
little wary of the hind ends right now.

Sunny, on the other hand gave us all a little scare when he went to head
a running cow and ended up getting rolled underneath her! Didn't seem
to bother him at all tho, he's going to be a kick-ass cattle dog :o)!!!

Also, we just got a very nice Certificate of Merit in the mail for Hawk.
He has ended up at #7 on the ASCA Merit Roll in Started Sheep for the
year. So look for his picture in the Jan/Feb issue of the Aussie Times!
:o)

From Michelle A. Dodgshon...

My little man Zachie obtained his CGN today with flying colors!!
Big, big hugs for my boy.

September 2004

From Pam and Randy Arlitt...

Sunny finished his Started Sheep titles at our Laidlaw trial, as well as finishing his Started Cattle titles in Ellensburg with a 3rd on Sat. and a 2nd on Sunday.

November 2004

From Jennifer Baldwin...

Remy made us very happy this weekend by finishing his Canadian CDX! Rem won
his large Open A class by virtue of being the only qualifier . . . tough
weekend for a lot of dogs!! So now he is ASCA/CAN CH Timaru's Flying Colors
CDX HS STDsd. Remy's obedience titles have been a joint effort between my
mother and myself and she is now looking forward to "Futility" with Austin
and Novice with Aspen. Miss Aspen was BOB and Group 2nd in the two Junior
Kennel Club matches a few weeks ago. Remy may get a bit of an obedience
vacation for now and just do some "fluffy dog" shows from time to time!

From Carly...

Jurny had a nadac trial this weekend and had an awesome day yesterday! (don't ask about today, he was having a 'moment'). With two firsts and a second, he got three Q's, one in Novice Jumpers, finishing up his NJC title, one in Novice Touch N Go, finishing up his TG-N title, and his first Open Standard Q! He is now...
Ch Caitland Jurney into the Crowd CDX, HIC, AGN, SAADC, NAC, NGC, NJC, TN-N, TG-N, GS-N! I think I got them all...LOL! He is working so well now, I am amazed every time i run him. Of course I feel like poop being out in that cold barn all weekend, with a cold coming on too. I am off bed with a cup of neo-citron. Oh, for any of you who might need a little extra motivation to get your dog ready for agility this spring...the Mill Bay show will be having 6 CKC trials the 13, 14, 15 (2 each day) of May in conjunction with their conformation show/obedience trial (might be different clubs, but you get the idea). They had their first agility trials last year, and they were awesome. There are few opportunities on the island for CKC agility, so this is a big one!

November 2004

Pam's Harley is now Spring Fever Harley Dee CD. We achieved her last two legs of Novice A in September. She also received two HQS J

September 2004

My aussie, Bear, finished his Can. CD in September with two high in class and one second place. He is now Roxeetops Rio Conchos CD!

From Ruth Bridges & Justus Pip CDX (ASCA STDd):

I have to brag that Pip finished her CKC CDX this weekend at the Nanaimo Kennel Club trials. It was her second weekend out in Open.

She was a solid worker all weekend, but she nearly gave me heart failure in the Sunday morning trial when she popped up on her down stay :-(( Her score would have been 194 1/2. However, she redeemed herself in the afternoon trial, when she qualified with a 194 1/2 (did I mention she was a pretty consistent worker?)

All three of her Open legs were second in class, missing High In Class by no more than one point each time. On to Futility!

January 2004

Maureen Elgert's CKC CH Snowbound Stuck On EwE HI , (Stewie) now has his ASCA STDds. He finished his STD titles at last July's ASCA of BC herding trial at Laidlaw BC

From Joan Holmes...

My beautiful girl Ellie completed her Advanced Cattle title and attained her
WTCH at the September days trial in Ellensburg, WA. She is now WTCH
Westwind's Gale Force RD RTDs DNA?VP This capped off a very wonderful
exciting year, as Ellie gave me a gorgeous litter of pups in June. 3BM
girls, 1BB girl, and 1 BM boy.

Hawk also achieved his Started Sheep title this past year and earned Most
Promising Started Aussie at the Ellensburg September Days trial. He is now
Windsong's Red Hawk STDs DNA?VP

From Jennifer Baldwin...

CKC CH Gallery Pacific of Spring Fever CDX TD, or "Austin", finished his Canadian CDX in December 2003 with a High in Class win at the Sheltie Club Trials in Cloverdale, BC. He also qualified for his second ASCA Open leg at the ASC of BC obedience trial in Bow, WA on December 7th, again with a class win and a score of 193. Austin is owned by Martha and Jennifer Baldwin.

May 2004

From Carly...

"The first shows on the island were good to my boys. Argus, Caitland Eyes
of a Hawk took Winners Male both days he was entered, bringing him up to
6pts towards his CKC Ch. Jurny added another agility title to his name,
making him Ch Caitland Jurney into the Crowd CDX, HIC, ADC, TN-N, AGN*.
Needless to say we had a good start to the show season!"

" Remy & Austin in the snow."
